How To Keep Self-Doubt Away

How many times have you been busy doing something, only to have doubt creep up into your mind and block you from completing what you were doing? You hear your inner voice telling you things like “you’re not good enough for this” or “you have no idea what you’re doing”. How many times have you had things going fantastically for you, but you somehow get to a point where you start asking yourself too many questions? Think about anything for long enough and you’ll get to a point of doubt about it all at some point.

Overthinking often leads us to second-guessing ourselves. Why we do it is irrelevant. The result of it is that it that holds us back and keeps self-doubt by our side at all times.

So, how do you manage to get rid of self-doubt and keep yourself far away from it? Well, I’m going to be honest, there is no magical way to completely eliminate it. You will never get rid of it, it’s human nature to second-guess ourselves to make sure we’ve done the right thing, and there’s nothing wrong with that. What gets things complicated is when we overdo it.

Considering there is no way to eliminate self-doubt entirely, there are ways to avoid the triggers that set it off, and when the triggers can’t be avoided, how to realize that we are in self-doubt and how to successfully overcome it without letting it affect us and our lives.

The next time you find yourself “stuck” because you let your second-guessing get out of control, second-guess your doubts. Focus on what you are feeling doubtful about. Are the reasons for your negativity valid? If yes, then why? Think about the whole process of your worries. What happened? What did you see or hear that set you off questioning yourself and second-guessing yourself?

There is always a reason behind self-doubt. If the reason is valid, good, that means you’ve got a good sense for problems that may arise. Most of the time your reasons won’t be valid, they will just be “reasons” that aren’t really reasons, but fears masked up to look like good reasons.

These hidden fears that you perceive as reasons are holding you back and stopping you from doing what you want to do. They are stopping you from doing what you can do. You can do anything you put your mind to. It’s the fears, doubts and the fake reasons that don’t allow you to do anything.

You can’t do anything you put your mind to, if your mind is consumed with worries and if you’re stuck in a world of self-doubt.

It’s time you stopped overthinking every single little thing. Thinking about everything that could go wrong won’t stop it from happening. So, you really aren’t getting anywhere. Let go of your doubt, second-guessing and overthinking.
